What’s the difference between a rug and a runner?

There’s no difference between a rug and a runner—both refer to the same product. For example, a 24" x 5' runner is the same as a 2' x 5' rug. Feel free to order using whichever term or size format you prefer—either way, you'll receive the same custom-made piece.

is it possible to do this rug without a border?

The rug needs a border to keep the edges from fraying. Use the Serged Edge for a borderless appearance.

How wide is the narrow border?

Narrow Cotton border shows 3/4" on the face of the rug.

I don’t want a border tape ..prefer a serged edge like my current sisal rug. Is that possible?

Yes - select 'Rug Border' and choose the Serged Edge option.

Does the rug measurement include the border trim?

Yes, the listed dimensions include the border trim. The border is sewn over the edge of the rug, so it’s part of the overall measured width.

Is the rug appropriate for children to play on? Soft, and not scratchy?

The rug is safe for children but is not considered soft. For a soft version see our Florence Wool & Isabela Wool rugs.

I don't want a border

All rugs need a border or they will unravel and fray at edges. The Serged Edge will give a 'borderless' appearance.
